About

Gabrielle Bernoville is a graduate of the College of Europe and Sciences Po majoring in European Affairs, with work experience in Latin America, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Currently undertaking a Blue Book Traineeship at the European Commission (DGEAC Unit D.1 Cultural Policy), Gabrielle also serves as a Junior Researcher of Culture Solutions and as the Director of the Public Relations Department of European Horizons a student-led policy incubator.
She has joined Unit D.1 “Cultural Policy” in October 2020 where she supports a wide scope of actions ranging from the protection and safeguarding of Cultural Heritage, the fight against illicit trafficking, and the external dimension of the EU’s cultural actions.
Originally from France, her great enthusiasm for the European Union’s cultural policies and funding programs has translated itself into her choice of higher education. She has opted for an interdisciplinary approach to EU Affairs, researching thoroughly these questions, while studying the cultural field first hand through her traineeships in several prominent international organizations. Her experiences in Peru and London exposed her to a large range of Cultural Diplomacy and Cultural Heritage Safeguarding tools and Strategies. She also gained a very good understanding of Cultural Policies and Programmes, being responsible for a two-week-long forum on the drafting of cultural policies, and various cultural heritage protection projects.

These commitments enabled her to go beyond her theoretical grounds and collaborated to research reports analyzing the EU’s Cultural Relations. Gabrielle finally serves as an Independent Research Fellow at the Institute of European Democrats within the framework of the IED research project "Geopolitics & Values: what is the real power of the EU? " launched in July 2020
