I am President of the 89 Initiative, the first pan-European think-do tank. I founded the 89 Initiative as a student at the LSE. It has since expanded across Europe, with branches in 8 different cities. I did my Master’s in EU Politics at the European Institute before staying on as Research Assistant to Kevin Featherstone at the Hellenic Observatory and latterly Research Officer working at the LSE European Institute. I have written articles and op-eds for publications including the Washington Post, the EU Observer and Kathimerini, and have made various television appearances including for TRT World and ERT. I am also co-founder of 89connect.
I am now also doing a PhD at the LSE, where my research explores different patterns of effects of financial bailout programmes on private-sector entrepreneurship, focusing in particular on the cases of Greece and Portugal. I speak eight languages including Greek, Turkish, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and some basic Arabic.
