Sophie Vériter is a graduate student at the University of Oxford where she is reading for a MPhil in Politics (European Politics and Society). Her research focuses on the policy-making process which led to the development of EU strategic communication policies, first and foremost towards its shared neighbourhood with Russia. In Oxford, Sophie works as a research assistant for the ‘Europe Stories’ project at the European Studies Centre and as the public relations officer for St Antony’s International Review. She is also a non-resident fellow of the Global Governance Institute in Brussels, for which she conducts research on the effectiveness EU and OSCE missions in Ukraine. Previously, Sophie worked as a consultant for the European Commission’s public diplomacy programme in the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine) as well as for the Royal Military Academy in Brussels. Sophie graduated with a BA in International Affairs Summa Cum Laude from Vesalius College (Brussels).
I am currently working on two research projects aside from my MPhil degree. First, I am part of the research team of the "Europe's Stories" project at the University of Oxford. Second, I am a member of the team conducting research on OSCE and EU activities in Ukraine as pat of the "Effectiveness of Peace Operations Network", through my affiliation with the Global Governance Institute.
